Apple rushes out iOS 11.2 to fix December 2 date bug

Apple has released iOS 11.2 for compatible iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices. The update was pushed ahead of schedule slightly due to a very serious Springboard bug. Users affected by this bug complained about their Springboard (iOS launcher) crashing and the phone rebooting when after 12:15 AM on December 2 when they received a push notification. What the significance of that date is is unknown but it did cause a lot of frustration and the only solutions seemed to be to either set your date back or disable notifications.
